For most iPhone owners the best MagSafe power bank is the Anker MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro (10K). It's Qi2.2 certified for 25W on recent iPhones, and it adds a cooling fan, a fold-out stand and a 45W USB-C port. If you'd rather never forget a cable, get the UGREEN MagFlow 10000mAh, which has one built in. For long trips, the UGREEN MagFlow 20000mAh doubles the capacity, and for a pocket the Anker Nano 5K MagGo Slim is the one you'll actually carry.

Two numbers matter more than the mAh on the box: the wireless wattage your iPhone can use, and how much of the battery survives the trip into your phone.

  • 15WOriginal Qi2, and the ceiling for iPhone 12 to 15

Qi2 25W vs 15W: which iPhones benefit

Original Qi2, launched in November 2023, charges at up to 15W. In July 2025 the Wireless Power Consortium launched Qi v2.2.1, branded Qi2 25W and usually sold as Qi2.2, with nearly 70% more power. Whether your iPhone uses it depends on the model. Anker's compatibility chart for the MagGo 2 Pro lists:

  • Up to 25W: iPhone 17 series, iPhone 18 Pro series, iPhone 16 Plus and 16 Pro Max.
  • Up to 20W: iPhone 16, 16 Pro and iPhone Air.
  • Up to 15W: iPhone 12 to 15.
  • Not compatible: iPhone 16e (it has no MagSafe magnets), plus Samsung and Pixel phones.

The difference is real but not dramatic. UGREEN quotes an iPhone 17 Pro Max reaching 50% in about 38 minutes at 25W from its MagFlow 10000mAh, versus about 54 minutes at 15W. Apple lists Qi2 at up to 25W for the new iPhone Duo too, but the makers here don't name it in their lists yet.

Looking for Apple's own MagSafe battery pack? Apple's current one, the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery, was made exclusively for the iPhone Air. Apple rates it at up to 12W wirelessly and up to 65% extra charge. Every pick below works with any MagSafe iPhone.

Why mAh isn't what reaches your phone

Power banks quote milliamp-hours at the battery cell's voltage, about 3.6V to 3.85V. The honest measure is watt-hours: Wh = mAh x cell voltage / 1,000. So a 10,000mAh pack holds about 36Wh to 38Wh (UGREEN rates its MagFlow 10000mAh at 36Wh), and a 20,000mAh pack about 72Wh to 77Wh.

Then the losses start. The bank converts that cell voltage up to the 5V to 15V a phone charges at, and a wireless pack also sends power through two coils, where some becomes heat. Anker is unusually candid: its 10,000mAh MagGo 2 Pro delivers about 5,500 to 6,500mAh to a phone. Heat costs twice, because a warm iPhone slows its own charging. That's why the better 25W packs add cooling, and why a cable gets more out of the same battery.

Anker

Anker MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro (10K, Qi2 25W, Active Cooling)

A 10,000mAh magnetic power bank with Qi2.2 25W wireless charging for recent iPhones, a 45W USB-C port, a cooling fan, a display and a fold-out stand.

  • 45W max output
  • 1 port

This is the most complete magnetic pack for an iPhone 17 or 18 Pro. It's Qi2.2 certified for 25W, and a small fan plus graphene layers handle the heat that otherwise makes 25W packs slow down. A fold-out stand (0 to 80°) props the phone up for video. The display shows charging power, temperature and battery health. The 45W USB-C port charges an iPad or a second phone by cable, and it refills the bank to 80% in about 52 minutes with a 45W charger, by Anker's figure.

Set expectations on capacity: plan around Anker's own figure of about 5,500 to 6,500mAh delivered, not the 10,000mAh on the box. At 2.79 x 4.14 x 0.7 in and 7.7 oz, it's thicker than slim packs. Anker lists it as not compatible with the iPhone 16e, Samsung or Pixel phones, and doesn't state pass-through charging or watt-hours. The listing's colour is worth a check.

UGREEN

UGREEN MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 10000mAh (Qi2 25W)

A 10,000mAh magnetic power bank with Qi2 25W wireless charging, a built-in 30W USB-C cable that doubles as a carry strap, and a second USB-C port.

  • 30W max output
  • 2 ports

The MagFlow is the pack for people who also charge earbuds or a second phone. It's Qi2 25W certified. UGREEN lists 25W for the iPhone 17 series, the iPhone 16 series on iOS 26 and the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and 15W for iPhone 12 to 15. Its 22 cm built-in USB-C cable delivers up to 30W in either direction and loops into a carry strap. There's also a separate 30W USB-C port, so it can charge three devices at once. UGREEN doesn't publish how power is shared when it does.

It's rated at 36Wh, recharges in about two hours by UGREEN's figure, and UGREEN lists simultaneous charging and recharging (pass-through). It's the only pick here that does. Phones without built-in magnets need a magnetic case.

UGREEN

UGREEN MagFlow Magnetic Wireless Power Bank 20000mAh (Qi2 25W, Built-In 45W USB-C Cable)

A 20,000mAh magnetic power bank with Qi2 25W wireless charging, a built-in 45W USB-C cable that doubles as a carry strap, plus a USB-C port and a USB-A port.

  • 45W max output
  • 2 ports

For a long travel day, this doubles the battery without giving up 25W. It's Qi2 25W certified, and UGREEN says it gives an iPhone 17 Pro Max more than 2.5 full charges. UGREEN notes the iPhone Air and iPhone 16 and 16 Pro may charge slightly below 25W, and older Qi2 phones at up to 15W.

The built-in USB-C cable delivers up to 45W and doubles as a strap. UGREEN says that's enough for smaller laptops such as a MacBook Air, and quotes an iPhone 16 Pro Max reaching 50% in 28 minutes by cable. A USB-C port and a USB-A port bring it to four devices at once, with the magnetic pad. It recharges at 45W, fully in about 3.5 hours by UGREEN's figure. UGREEN doesn't publish its weight, watt-hours or pass-through support. By the formula above it should be about 72Wh to 77Wh, under the 100Wh carry-on limit; check the rating printed on the pack.

Anker

Anker Nano Power Bank (5K, MagGo, Slim)

An 8.6mm-thin 5,000mAh magnetic power bank with Qi2-certified 15W wireless charging and a 20W USB-C port.

  • 20W max output
  • 1 port

If you only need an afternoon top-up, a slim 5,000mAh pack is the one that stays in your pocket. Anker's is 8.6 mm thick and 122 g, Qi2 certified for 15W, with a 20W USB-C port that charges a phone or refills the bank. A graphene layer and temperature sensors aim to keep it below 40°C (104°F).

The trade-off is speed and stamina. It tops out at 15W wirelessly even on an iPhone 17, and charging two devices at once drops both to slow 5W-class rates. It's a top-up, not a full charge for a large iPhone.

Anker

Anker Nano Power Bank (10,000mAh, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable)

A 10,000mAh power bank with a built-in USB-C cable plus separate USB-C and USB-A ports, rated up to 30W.

  • 30W max output
  • 3 ports

Not every iPhone needs a magnetic pack. If you'll plug in anyway, a wired bank skips the coil losses, so more of its 10,000mAh reaches the phone. Anker's has a built-in 30W USB-C cable, a 30W USB-C port and a 22.5W USB-A port. Over USB Power Delivery, 30W is more than the 20W Apple uses for the fastest wired figure on an iPhone 15, 16 or Air. It's also the right choice for an iPhone 16e.

It has no magnets, so the phone isn't held in place while you use it. Anker lists a lower total when several devices share it, and at 215 g it's heavier than the slim pack above. Our USB Power Delivery explainer covers how PD negotiation works.

Flying with a MagSafe power bank

The FAA treats power banks as spare lithium batteries, and the UK CAA's summary of the ICAO rule change adds the newer limits:

  • Yes: In your carry-on, at 100Wh or less: no airline approval needed (every pick here)
  • Partly: Above 100Wh up to 160Wh: airline approval required, and no more than two such spares
  • No: In checked luggage, including a carry-on that's checked at the gate: take it out and keep it with you
  • No: More than two power banks per passenger, or recharging one on board: not allowed under the ICAO rule since March 27, 2026

The UK CAA also says passengers shouldn't use power banks to charge devices during the flight, and many airlines set stricter limits, so check your carrier before you go. For the rest of your travel kit, see our USB gifts for travelers.

How we choose

We haven't tried these power banks ourselves. Our picks come from research:

  • Manufacturer specs. Capacity, Qi2 certification level, per-port wattage, box contents and pass-through support come from Anker's and UGREEN's product pages and support records. Where a maker doesn't publish a figure, such as weight or watt-hours, we say so.
  • Standards. We check Qi2 versus Qi2 25W against the Wireless Power Consortium's announcement and each maker's iPhone compatibility list, and USB Power Delivery for the wired side.
  • Travel rules. Every pick is under the FAA's 100Wh no-approval limit, and we cite the ICAO change that took effect March 27, 2026.
  • Known buyer patterns. The big ones: magnetic packs deliver well under their rated mAh, and heat slows wireless charging.

Verdict

Get the Anker MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro if you have an iPhone 16 Plus, 16 Pro Max, iPhone 17 or iPhone 18 Pro and want the fastest, coolest-running magnetic pack. The UGREEN MagFlow 10000mAh adds a built-in cable and pass-through, the UGREEN MagFlow 20000mAh is the one for long trips, and the Anker Nano 5K MagGo Slim is the one you'll forget is there. If you don't need magnets, the wired Anker Nano Power Bank gets more charge out of every milliamp-hour. For a stand at home, see our MagSafe charger guide. Frequently asked questions

Can I take a MagSafe power bank on a plane?

Yes, in your carry-on only. The FAA allows spare lithium-ion batteries, including power banks, up to 100Wh without airline approval, and never in checked bags. A 10,000mAh pack is about 36Wh to 38Wh and a 20,000mAh pack about 72Wh to 77Wh. Since March 27, 2026, an ICAO rule limits passengers to two power banks and bans recharging them on board, and airlines can be stricter.

How many times will a 10,000mAh MagSafe power bank charge my iPhone?

Less than the number suggests. Anker says its 10,000mAh MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro delivers about 5,500 to 6,500mAh to a phone, because energy is lost converting voltages and, wirelessly, as heat. UGREEN says its 20,000mAh MagFlow gives an iPhone 17 Pro Max more than 2.5 full charges. Plugging the phone into the bank's cable wastes less than charging it on the magnetic pad.

Is Qi2.2 the same as Qi2 25W?

Yes. The Wireless Power Consortium launched Qi v2.2.1 in July 2025 and brands it Qi2 25W; accessory makers often call it Qi2.2. Original Qi2, from November 2023, tops out at 15W. A Qi2 25W pack charges recent iPhones at up to 25W, while a Qi2 pack stays at 15W on every iPhone.

Do magnetic power banks work with the iPhone 16e or Android phones?

The iPhone 16e has no MagSafe magnets, so a magnetic pack won't stay on it, and Anker lists the 16e as incompatible with its MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro. Anker also lists Samsung and Pixel phones as incompatible. UGREEN lists the Pixel 10 Pro XL at 25W for its MagFlow 10000mAh. Other Android phones need a magnetic case.

Should I charge my iPhone wirelessly or with a cable from a power bank?

Use the cable when you can. Wireless charging is convenient, but it loses more energy as heat, so the same battery delivers fewer charges, and heat also makes the phone slow its charging. Every pick here except the Anker 5K Slim has a 30W or 45W USB-C cable or port, which fast charges a USB-C iPhone.
